Dear Friend,
How many times have you planned something, added it to your schedule, and then had something else get in the way?
Well, I admit it, I didn’t get this blog completed when I planned. What got in the way?
As an author, I write. That’s not a surprise. But, when inspiration hits and my writing flows, I sit in the chair and write, and write, and write. This has been one of those weeks.
I hit my stride writing Randy’s Dilemma, my next book. What I planned as a novella, a shorter book, is now going to be a short novel. Meaning it will be more than 40,000 words. I’m really jazzed about it.
From feeling concerned about what to include as a twist, I prevailed upon my nighttime dreams to give me an idea. (If you remember the entire Louisa’s Vineyard Series came to me in a dream, this was a similar find!)
I’m not going to tell you the spoiler, which would ruin the surprise. But I will share that Randy meets his dream date. . . or is she?
Randy’s is one of my favorite characters. He’s given space in each of my books because he’s a fascinating character. He’s not afraid to joke around with his parents, his sister, and others. He’s also caring, and sincere. Quite intuitive, Randy figures things out before many people would.
So, I’ve rambled on about what kept me from meeting my usual deadline to produce and have my webmaster post my weekly blog. I’m sure you’ll forgive me when you learn how excited I am about how Randy’s Dilemma is progressing. My sleeping brain found my answer for the knotty issue of how to create an unusual twist.
I’ll be meeting my scheduled deadlines in the future, because I hate disappointing people!
