I’m excited to introduce you to Shannon Bell, the effervescent artist and sculptor who joins you in my next book, Love at First Sight, the Prequel to my Louisa’s Vineyard Series. She’s lots of fun.

The best way for you to get to know Shannon is for you to read about her in the book. But, she agreed to tell you about herself. So, your turn, Shannon. . .

John

Hi, Everyone! I’m Shannon Bell. Ms. Sommers asked me to create my biography, so you could get to know me better. If she’d asked me to paint a picture or develop a sculpture, that would be easier for me. I’m an artist, used to those mediums, and even won a contest. My sculpture, “Children at Play,” which is now installed in my hometown’s park, was the winning entry in my city’s contest. (That’s the last time I’m going to brag, but I was just so thrilled!)

When I arrived at college on my first day of classes, I met a classmate named John Dominico. How I met him was unusual. It was as if lightning struck me! He seemed as shocked (ha! Pun intended) as I was. But we couldn’t keep our eyes off each other. When class was over, we agreed to walk over to a café near campus. We stayed for hours!

My life changed that day. John is funny, attentive, caring, polite, and a great kisser! He makes me laugh!

He’s a structural engineering major who wants to develop buildings that are good for the environment and the people who use them. Kind of like an architect-plus. His classes include lots of math and science, but he can still draw buildings, so that’s why we met in an art class.

I said he’s a great kisser, not that I’ve ever dated. Saying that is based on limited information. But by the time we’d spent the evening together, we’d shared everything about our lives, and talked about the potential to get married and have two children! We’d fallen in love!

This seems impossible based on my earlier life. Since I didn’t date, I spent my life surrounded by my immediate family, school, volunteering as a literacy trainer, art (both mine and seeing others’ works from painting to pottery, sculpture, and even origami), and drama club. My childhood with my parents, and older and younger brothers was fun and wonderful. Unconditional love was definitely part of our lives.

What’s exciting is that I’ve added a whole new family to my life. John’s parents are so welcoming. They’ve already claimed me as their daughter, since I make John so happy. His mom is a force of nature and a sweetheart. His dad is charming and generous. Together, they are totally supportive parents. I can see how John became who he is─loving, kind, caring, responsible, smart, and self-assured.

And the sex! OMG! John and I clicked from the beginning. I was such a naïve girl. Now we’re getting married and I’m already calling him husband, because it seems so natural. I didn’t think that love at first sight could exist, but with John, it truly does!

I can’t wait to share John’s and my story with you!

I hope you enjoyed Shannon’s bio!

I’m changing our blog schedule for the weeks leading up to our August 29 book launch. Each Friday until the book launches, I’ll share some new info about Love at First Sight. (Hint: John will introduce himself soon!)

After the August 29 book launch, I’ll publish the blog on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. (Having the blogs publish on the same dates each month was confusing. This way, you can look for a new blog on the same day–twice a month, on the second and fourth Thursday.)

Exception to the above publishing schedule–when I have something special to share, which I will soon–as your foreign correspondent!

More details to come.

Note: Love at First Sight will be available on August 29 from Amazon, Draft2Digital and other booksellers.
