Dear Friend,
Aren’t we always waiting for something? From the school bus when we were younger, to birthdays, anniversaries, visits from family, vacations. . .
When I was growing up, birthdays were everything! Like being queen for a day. Mom let us choose what we’d have for dinner, for dessert, and it felt like being royalty. The day began with an off-key rendition of “Happy Birthday” by my family. Later, I opened presents. No wonder I anticipated birthdays with joy and excitement.
When we’re looking forward to an event or experience, there’s a sizzle in your body that makes you feel energized. That’s anticipation.
As an adult, there are still times when people feel excited, energized with anticipation. Unbelievably, I feel anticipation before I go to the gym! Something I never expected is the thrill of knowing I can lift 80 pounds, accomplish walking a mile, and realize my muscles have strengthened in the eighteen months I’ve been working out. I resist going to the gym. But once I’m there, I’m dedicated.
We all feel that sense of anticipation. As I write my books, I’m creating a world for the characters. I’m consciously letting them enjoy life, hitting them with hurdles to overcome, and sharing joy, laughter, and love with family and friends. Offering believable and enticing characters and plot are my goal.
The reason I’m writing about Randy Dominico, in this sixth! book of the Louisa’s Vineyard Series, is that in the very first book, Louisa’s Passion, I saw something in Randy that was delightful, fun, and countered with a depth of character that made me say, “I’m going to write about Randy, someday.
Someday is now! And I can’t wait to finish the book, which has grown beyond the short novella I anticipated it would be. The characters I’ve developed are very real. They have modern challenges, and explicit love lives. I get emotional sometimes, when I’m dealing with their challenges.
Coming soon! Hang in there! Don’t let anticipation be “keepin’ you waitin’.” Meanwhile, look at the other Louisa’s Vineyard books and choose one to catch up with the story. Then you can enjoy what an amazing character Randy has become when Randy’s Dilemma debuts.
Soon!

Please share some of the fun and exciting things you ANTICIPATE!

Happy Anticipation and enjoy your reading!
