Dear Friend,
Note: This is not a political blog. It just happens that I finished my editing and proofing of Randy’s Dilemma on November 3, 2026! It certainly feels like winning to me!
I now need to format my book, which is a new process for me. Still, I’m smiling. I will have this book ready for your holiday gifting!
In a previous career, I learned, with one hour of tutoring, how to use a self-publishing program to create newsletters. I used that program for years. Then, the next innovative self-publishing program came along, I changed careers, and I wasn’t dealing with self-publishing anymore.
But now I am. It can be humbling, but after dealing with people who I spend so much time explaining what I need, the vision for my characters, and how I want things to look, it seemed like a good time to learn how to format my own books.
Instead of hours of back-and-forth emails, I can just focus on how I want things. I have an excellent webmaster, who is also a graphic designer, to help me.
Because I’ve been gathering the various parts of my book to have them ready for publishing, I also decided that I would do a “Reveal.” Not a cover reveal, although this will be on the back cover of the book. It’s called, “The Blurb.” It’s short, but gives readers a chance to try out the concepts of the book to see if it’s something they’d like to read.
Here’s the Blurb for Randy’s Dilemma:
One question changed everything. . .
Randy left home to start college.
During a campus tour,
It caught him by surprise.
He met THE ONE.

At her college tour guide job, everyone called her “Sam.”
But he addressed her as “Samantha,” which was endearing.
This quirky, clever guy wanted to know one thing.
His question intrigued her.
Her life was a steady stream of misfortune.
His experiences left him mistrusting.
Can they learn to love and trust each other?
The tagline for the book, which will be placed on the front cover, at the bottom is:
In one moment, life changed. Can the moment last forever?

A REQUEST: If you read the BLURB above, what was your reaction?
Did you want to know what the question was?
Do my characters seem interesting?
PLEASE RESPOND TO ME WITH YOUR ANSWERS: shelley@shelleysommers.com
NOTE: This book is STEAMY! I’ve even heard the word “Sizzling” used to describe very avid and hot, sexy scenes. It is not meant for readers under 16.
Looking forward to letting you know where and when Randy’s Dilemma will be available!
SOON!
Hugs,
Shelley
