Dear Friend –

Who doesn’t love cake?

Since I’ve been writing about weddings in my blog, I’ve realized the importance of cakes.

Trends come and go: Smooshing cake in the bride and groom’s faces appears to be losing favor. (Hurrah!) Decorating cakes using fresh flowers is building interest. The current favorite cake flavor appears to be vanilla with a raspberry or strawberry filling.

Wedding Cake with FlowersBRIDES Magazine even suggests that the gigantic, tiered cake is no longer the only confection that brides and grooms choose. A small cake, just for the cutting ceremony, is finding favor for just the bride and groom, with an assortment of sweet treats for the wedding guests.

And my choices? Well, I admit it. I broke the “rules.” In my first marriage, we eloped. My second time, my husband and I were married in a park which we later found out had been the site of an Indian massacre. Funny thing, the second marriage is working out much better than the first did. We didn’t notice the obscure marker about the park’s history until after our ceremony.

The ironic thing is that my romances include many weddings, so I’ve become quite familiar with the customs.

Weddings are prominent in my books. Will’s family runs a wedding venue on the vineyard property, so naturally he’s accustomed to the formalities of wedding ceremonies.

I’ve enjoyed varying the weddings, the wedding vows, and even the phrase “If anyone has reason to object to this couple marrying.”

The most fun is that Louisa has become an informal matchmaker. She’s a quiet empath, but the people she matches become happily married in record time! When she suggests that one character might meet someone they’d like at a wedding, it’s a sure bet that will happen. And in my next book, The Greatest Thing, which debuts in May, it happens.

I invite you to share the thrills and happiness by reading my Louisa’s Vineyard Series. Not only are the books fun, but the marriages include extremely compatible couples who really enjoy the sexual relationships they share. Laughter, joy, and explicit bedroom scenes are usual.

The newest book, The Greatest Thing, features Louisa and Will, but also includes many of the secondary characters finding a loving partner to marry. They do experience challenges, but that’s also a regular part of romance, which makes the happiness even more joyful. Click here to meet Louisa in Book 1. We all need happiness NOW!
